Background:

Graduated from the University of Nevada Las Vegas with a B.A. in Criminal Justice in 1986 and entered the insurance industry as an Allstate Insurance Agent. In 1995 accepted the position as a Multi-Line General Agent (District Manager) with American National Insurance Company. In 2005 Rod was approached by Nationwide to consider a management position with the company. Electing to pursue the independent contractor channel, Rod opened four scratch office locations simultaneously. In 2011, Rod completed his master’s degree from the American College in Management/Leadership. Rod has earned the following business certifications: LUTCF, CLF, (CPCU Currently In Progress)

Rod has also served as a Moderator for the Nationwide Training Academy, the National Association of Life Underwriters, and has been awarded several International Management Awards from GAMA International. Rod was active with Rotary, California Police Chiefs Association, and the International Chiefs of Police Association and the Las Vegas Opportunity Village which serves children with special needs. 

In addition to the above, Rod completed a 20-year career in law enforcement retiring at the rank of Chief of Police from Bear Valley Police Department.

I have been in the insurance industry working with the Mountain Pacific Agency since 1998. I have been a licensed agent since 2001. I received my LUTCF designation in 2003. I am very fortunate to be working in such an amazing industry with outstanding people. I look forward to everyday helping, educating, and hopefully making someone’s day a little brighter. 

I am originally from the South, but I have been in Las Vegas since 1996. I absolutely love it here. I enjoy DIY projects, reading a good book, and being outdoors. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my kids and their families, doing things around the house, or just getting in the car for a drive out of the city.

I have been licensed in Property, Casualty, Life, and Health since 2009. I started working for Mountain Pacific Insurance Services in 2006. Working alongside my friends and family is such a blessing. It makes coming to work even more special. It’s extremely rewarding to help people protect what’s most important to them.

I was born and raised in Las Vegas! I graduated from UNLV with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing. I absolutely love dog agility and when I’m not working, you can find me at dog agility events with Blue. I also really enjoy spending time with my family. Most people do not know that I play the piano!

I’ve worked in the insurance field for 11 years as a CSR and I love it! I learn something new every day. Helping people and turning someone’s bad day into a good day – maybe even making them laugh – is my passion.

I’ve lived in Las Vegas, NV for 15 years. I graduated high school in Arkansas with a scholarship in theatre arts but knowing the job market for mimes was scarce, I left college to be a waitress but was eventually introduced to the field of insurance – which is strangely similar to miming. I’m an avid reader, an artist, and a cookie decorator. I’d say that decorating sugar cookies is my favorite. In case you didn’t know, hockey is like coffee; essential to living a good life.

Helping people who struggle with mental illness is very important to me.

Out of high-school worked at Farmers Insurance regional office in Mission, Kansas. I started out in the mailroom and then went onto underwriting. Soon after, a general agent for the company convinced me to go into sales, and here we are now! I like that in this industry you are always meeting and talking to people. Insurance is a ‘have to have’ for various reasons. However, it is important for each individual to obtain a coverage to protect them from financial disaster. It is also important that they understand in simple concise terms how their protection provides them this security.
