Background:
Graduated from the University of Nevada Las Vegas with a B.A. in Criminal Justice in 1986 and entered the insurance industry as an Allstate Insurance Agent. In 1995 accepted the position as a Multi-Line General Agent (District Manager) with American National Insurance Company. In 2005 Rod was approached by Nationwide to consider a management position with the company. Electing to pursue the independent contractor channel, Rod opened four scratch office locations simultaneously. In 2011, Rod completed his master’s degree from the American College in Management/Leadership. Rod has earned the following business certifications: LUTCF, CLF, (CPCU Currently In Progress)
Rod has also served as a Moderator for the Nationwide Training Academy, the National Association of Life Underwriters, and has been awarded several International Management Awards from GAMA International. Rod was active with Rotary, California Police Chiefs Association, and the International Chiefs of Police Association and the Las Vegas Opportunity Village which serves children with special needs.
In addition to the above, Rod completed a 20-year career in law enforcement retiring at the rank of Chief of Police from Bear Valley Police Department.
